Hope IT finishes up this school year with a summer course. It’s just not the course we thought would be our last one.
We usually schedule our “Solving Mazes with Python” course for Saturdays in June. Programming in Python is not taught much at high school, but in contrast, it is so widely used in the IT industry. We sense students are really helped to start learning Python now. However, no students signed up for this course. We ended up cancelling it.
We also created an extra course this June, covering creating websites with WordPress. One student signed up for this course on Thursday nights. The reason for this extra course is 2 fold. First, this course usually is followed by a paid internship. (You may recall that Hope IT had this course in February, but the students chose not to take on the internship.) Second, we have a student at the Door of Hope who just finished his junior year in high school that could really benefit from a paid internship. Of course, he needs to take the WordPress course first. He has done well, see his website on History in the screen shot above. God willing, we will have an internship for him in August.
Hope IT takes July off, to rest and be restored. Have a great summer! God bless!
Peace,
